Weekend’Art is a platform for artistic expression and promotion.
Considered as the “artists’ melting pot”,
it cuts across diverse artistic domains from stand-up comedy, plastic arts,
performing arts and music. It is also a platform for discovery (talent search)
and artistic management.
On a monthly basis Weekend’Art organizes crowd pulling events
via which the public is thrilled basically on one/or more of the artistic
domains as well as presenting an uprising artist in a particular domain with a
special accent placed on stand-up comedy. The Hollywood glamour aspect of Weekend’Art events, pulling in the most
prominent Cameroonian celebs from far and wide marching past the red carpet to
a sumptuous venue and posing on the “Wall
of fame” simply confirm its supremacy. . .
It is worth noting that Weekend’Art equally has a humanitarian
corner whereby the needed and underprivileged get to experience a warm touch and feeling of belonging. Following
every event it organizes, a portion of its proceeds are forwarded to a charity
organization, orphanage or to back up a community development project herby
returning the much appreciated support shown to Weekend’Art by the community and well wishers.

The event doped “Buea Lol Comedy Show” comes in as
initiation point and communion front with the SW Region inhabitants and Buea
town in particular. To announce its official implantation in the South West
grounds, not better way than to showcase what the organization does best. This
is clearly spelled out in its motto “Entertainment for social Action”.
A host of rib-cracking comedians
gladly rallied behind this initiative to spread peace, love, happiness and
humor. Backed up by their co hoods of
the music industry, they unanimously adhere to the notion that contrary to
popular believe of the entertainment industry being exclusively about money and
nothing else, but hold that entertainment and its various actors are an indispensible
tool to social development and welfare.
This of course is witnessed in their
participation in the “Buea Lol Comedy
Show” scheduled come Saturday,
November 7th, 2015, venue Hotel
Residence Carlos (who gladly welcomed the initiative) and kick-off time 18h00 prompt. Door cover charges stand
at 2,000 CFA for the regular tickets
and 5,000 CFA for the VIP (includes
special packages containing Ekose carrier bags, Ékiéé Magazines and
comedy CDs)
